What's Inside a Bloody Mary
The original Bloody Mary is said to have consisted of a harmonious blend of seven ingredients: vodka, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, celery salt, Tabasco, and a hint of lemon juice. Nevertheless, much like many timeless concoctions, it has served as the muse for a variety of interpretations. Among these, you'll find the Bloody Maria (crafted with tequila), the Red Snapper (elevated with a touch of gin), and the Caesar, a Canadian creation boasting Clamato juice. When you delve into the creative offerings from different bars, mixologists, and passionate aficionados, the tomato-based cocktail takes on an extensive array of transformations.
Today, we'll show you how to prepare this cocktail using our delicious Tequila La Misión del Siglo XXI
Ingredients:
2 ounces Tequila La Misión del Siglo XXI Reposado
4 ounces tomato juice
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
2 dashes Tabasco sauce
1 pinch smoked paprika
Garnish: 2 green olives
1 lime wedge
Garnish: parsley sprig
Garnish: lime wedge
Garnish: celery stalk
1 lemon wedge
1 pinch ground black pepper
Celery salt
Garnish: 2 green olives
Steps:
Sprinkle a bit of celery salt onto a small plate.
Take a lemon or lime wedge and run it along the rim of a pint glass, letting the juice moisten the rim.
Roll the outer edge of the glass in the celery salt until it's completely coated, then fill the glass with ice and set it aside.
Squeeze the lemon and lime wedges into a shaker and place them in there.
Add Tequila La Misión, tomato juice, horseradish, Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, smoked paprika, and a dash of celery salt to the shaker, along with some ice. Gently shake the mixture.
Strain the mixture into the prepared glass.
Finally, garnish with a sprig of parsley, 2 green olives speared on a toothpick, a wedge of lime, and optionally, a stalk of celery.
